Platform 210

A patent pending multi-purpose LED fixture kit using the LexaLite Model 210 refractor. This combination provides a Type V distribution with a main beam of 67 degrees vertical. This combination is suited for intersection, garage, low-bay and other general lighting applications. The assembly can achieve an IP65 rating. The LEDs are mounted 16” away from the optical surface which provides exceptional hiding power.

Applications

This combination is suited for intersection, garage, low-bay and other general lighting applications. The assembly can achieve an IP65 rating.

Features

  • The LEDs are mounted 16” away from the optical surface which provides exceptional hiding power.
  • The die cast aluminum housing is designed to accept multiple LED drivers while providing a separate compartment to keep the drivers and LEDs isolated.
  • The housing has two conduit fittings on the periphery, a hook for mounting and cord pass through.
  • The finned housing serves as a highly efficient heat sink with over 500 sq.in of surface area maximizing heat dissipation outside of the fixture.
  • This one-piece design can effectively dissipate up to 180W in a 40ºC ambient temperature.
  • There are 12 internal LED board mounting surfaces which are canted 20 degrees from vertical.
  • The Model 210 refractor is assembled to the housing with clips and screws which compress a silicone gasket.
  • LexaLite offers custom machining of the heat sink to accommodate your LED board mounting.

Components

Platform Casting

The die cast aluminum housing is designed to accept multiple LED drivers while providing a separate compartment to keep the drivers and LEDs isolated. The housing has 2 conduit fittings on the periphery, a hook for mounting and cord pass through. The finned housing serves as a highly efficient heat sink with over 500 sq.in of surface area maximizing heat dissipation outside of the fixture. This one-piece design can effectively dissipate up to 180W in a 40ºC ambient temperature. The cast aluminum heat sink is offered either raw or powder coated white. There are 12 internal LED board mounting surfaces which are canted 20 degrees from vertical. The Model 210 refractor is assembled to the housing with clips and screws which compress a silicone gasket.

Platform 210 Lens

This injection molded LexaLite® Model 210 refractor provides a Type V distribution with a main beam of 67 degrees vertical. This combination is suited for intersection, garage, low-bay and other general lighting applications. The LEDs are mounted 16” away from the optical surface, which provides exceptional hiding power. Lighting grade acrylic is standard in the Model 210 and polycarbonate is available as an option. The service life of acrylic refractors for the Platform Series is virtually unlimited when used within the recommended temperature limit. Acrylic versions are covered by our 10-year limited warranty. Polycarbonate refractors are subject to yellowing.

Inner Reflector

The laser cut Miro 4® aluminum reflector enhances fixture efficiency and provides a separation between the optical cavity and driver compartment. The specular material minimizes internal reflections. In some versions, the reflector may serve as an enclosure for the electronics, allowing the use of a Class 1 system. Custom cut versions can be made to accommodate a variety of LED arrays. Other reflector materials are available as options.

Platform Lens Clip

These stamped stainless steel lens retaining clips are specifically designed to retain LexaLite® Platform Series Models 210 and 352 lenses. The wide face spreads the compression load over a large surface area, reducing stress. The clips rely on a gasket being in place to provide modest pressure against the flange. The clips will seat against a positive stop in the back of the mounting screw hole to avoid excessive pressure being applied to the lenses.

Silicone Gasket

A.L.P. recommends a medium compression foamed silicone gasket to provide an IP66 seal. Foamed silicone provides long life, retention of compression properties, and reduced out-gassing. A.L.P. urges customers to avoid EPDM gaskets due to out-gassing and its potential effects on both lenses and LEDs.
